CREATING A RENTAL COMMUNITY
Managing Director, Hitachi China
As well as his position at Hitachi China, Mr Tei is a director of the Japan Construction Equipment Rental Association (JCRA) and the organisation’s representative on the Global Rental Alliance (the umbrella body for the world’s equipment rental associations).
Mr Tei is an experienced construction equipment and rental executive with extensive knowledge of Asia Pacific and Japanese markets. Before joining Hitachi in China, he was leader of Nippon Caterpillar’s rental business in Japan, which is one of the largest OEM-led rental businesses in Asia. More recently, he joined Hitachi in China to help develop its rental strategy in the country. That strategy will include Hitachi creating its own ‘wholesale’ rental fleet to supply to dealers to rent, as well as alliances and partnerships with independent rental companies. For example, it is working with Kanamoto to supply large machines for rental to coal mines in China.
Mr Tei Graduated from Waseda University, Japan and got his degree as Doctor of Engineering in 1992.
