Michel Petitjean
Secretary General
European Rental Association (ERA)
TOPIC: Impact of digitalisation on Europe’s rental market
Michel Petitjean has been secretary general of the European Rental Association since its creation in 2006. In that role he oversees the day-to-day activities of the association, organises the annual ERA Convention and helps develop the association’s statistics for the European rental market.
The ERA has taken a leading role in helping to develop the rental market in the region. Its various committees are, among other things, promoting the role that rental can play in sustainability, helping equipment manufacturers develop products well suited to rental, and creating tools – such as its total cost of ownership calculator – that help rental companies promote their services.
Before joining the ERA Mr Petitjean worked in construction and rental in Europe and the US. He was chairman of Prime Equipment, CEO of Pinault Equipment and CEO of Laho Equipment.
Michel also has extensive experience in France as a certified mediator, helping resolve disputes between companies and
institutions.
